A Step Too Far?

A Step Too far? is the 3000 mile charity walk I embarked on in May 2011 with the aim of raising £100,000 for Tag Rugby Trust. My trip started in New York and ended in Los Angeles three months later, and followed as much of Historic Route 66 as I could. The route covers just over 3000 miles and took me approximately 90 days of walking.

Below you will find my daily log and the adventures which ensued.

I Came. I saw. It Kicked My Ass.

88 Days walking up hills, in rain and through the desert will really test you. Enjoy my daily log from my 3152 mile trip across the USA.

All 3152 Miles

Due to the length of the walk there is no program you can just drop in New York to LA walking route. The procedure was actually quite painstaking. I am used Google maps to get the basic direction then I am use street view to make sure that the roads it suggests have footpaths on them (sometimes it sends me down freeways or motorways). When I have the road I then re-mapped it in mapmyrun.com.
